Kids in Care
Children in foster care come from a past of abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment. They have been removed from their biological homes by Child Protective Services (CPS). CPS's first goal is to preserve the family unit and take corrective measures to ensure the children and parents stay together. If conditions are not safe enough, the child is placed in the care of a relative. When the abuse is too severe, CPS goes to court and has the child legally removed from their biological parents and placed in foster care.
